PAL Aerospace is a leader in international aerospace and defense design, development and operation of airborne surveillance aircraft, heavy maintenance checks, and software applications. The successful incumbent will be located in St. John’s, NL and will join a dynamic team in the Systems Integration Division.


As Systems Engineering Specialist, duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Apply and demonstrate a high level of knowledge and skills in electronics principles

  • Produce electrical and electronics drawings, layouts, technical reports, and presentations

  • Assist with the writing, modifying, integrating and testing of system level specifications including electronics and software requirements

  • Assist in the development of hardware and software laboratory test environments

  • Develop control-system and user-interface applications for embedded microcontrollers in avionics equipment applications using high-level programming languages

  • Design, assemble, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic circuits

  • Apply appropriate troubleshooting techniques to electronic circuits or systems, and generate and perform test procedures

  • Communicate effectively to various stakeholders in situations involving technical problems, processes and solutions

  • Contribute to systems requirements, design, architecture, implementation, testing and maintenance of airborne products

  • Other duties as required



  • Diploma in Electronic Systems Engineering Technology, or Instrumentation and Controls Engineering Technology, or Bachelors’ degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent job experience

  • Knowledge of C#, .Net, and micro-controller software development

  • Experience in installation, fault-finding, and troubleshooting electronics is considered an asset

  • Excellent communication skills: ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff members

  • Team-oriented and able to work independently

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to excel in a deadline oriented environment
