PAL Aerospace is a proud partner of Airbus Defence & Space for the Government of Canada’s Fixed Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR) aircraft replacement program. Through AirPro Search and Rescue Services (a joint venture between Airbus DS and PAL), the AirPro team will be responsible for fleet management tasks. In addition, PAL Aerospace will be responsible for the In-Service Support which covers all aspects of the maintenance work not undertaken by Royal Canadian Air Force technicians. It will include high value work such as repairs, 2nd and 3rd level maintenance, future modification work and depot level maintenance of the aircraft.
This significant and exciting project will pave the way for innovation and opportunity within PAL Aerospace, while growing our operations. In an effort to expand our current team, PAL Aerospace is currently looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to join the AirPro team in the Ottawa, ON region.
The Supply Chain Specialist will work closely with the Material Support System Manager (MSSM) to support the Materiel Support System (MSS).
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist in managing all airworthiness-related activities conducted within the Acceptable Materiel Support Organization (AMSO)
Support MSSM to ensure all Materiel activities for the FWSAR Program are conducted in accordance with the Technical Airworthiness Manual (TAM) requirements
Monitor the performance of the Materiel Support organization to ensuring smooth service support delivery to all FWSAR locations including: Main Operating Bases (MOBs), the Central Warehouse, any deployed locations and within the Integrated Product Team (IPT). This includes:
Shipping & Receiving
Parts & Documentation Control
Shelf Life Control
Maintain the MSS KPI dashboard and provide reports to as required
Provide oversight of the MSS elements of the IPT
Coordinate and represent AirPro at Materiel Support Working Group (MSWG) meetings
Contribute to the creation of the Materiel SS Plan to meet deadlines, budget, and program milestones
Review and update the FWSAR Logistics Handbook
Participate in site visits/audits of FWSAR MSS facilities
15+ years experience in supply chain and logistics operations
5+ years experience in a management or leadership role
Experience in the Canadian Technical Airworthiness Authority through work experience and/or formal training of the applicable rules and standards
Understanding of the FWSAR operational and environmental requirements
Previous experience working with DND will be considered an asset
Able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to manage projects and to work collaboratively in a team setting
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Exceptional organizational skills
Ability to meet program security requirement
Must be able to travel within Canada and internationally as required
