PAL Aerospace is a proud partner of Airbus Defence & Space for the Government of Canada’s Fixed Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR) aircraft replacement program. Through AirPro Search and Rescue Services (a joint venture between Airbus DS and PAL), the AirPro team will be responsible for fleet management tasks. In addition, PAL Aerospace will be responsible for the In-Service Support which covers all aspects of the maintenance work not undertaken by Royal Canadian Air Force technicians. It will include high value work such as repairs, 2nd and 3rd level maintenance, future modification work and depot level maintenance of the aircraft.

This significant and exciting project will pave the way for innovation and opportunity within PAL Aerospace, while growing our operations. In an effort to expand our current team, PAL Aerospace is currently looking for a Quality Manager to join the AirPro team in Ottawa, ON.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the implementation and management of the quality system

  • Develops, assures, and maintains the quality of processes and procedures

  • Coach team members on quality management to ensure quality system, procedures, and processes are followed

  • Liaise with key stakeholders to promote an understanding quality requirements

  • Implement and maintain ISO 9001 - AS-9100 system

  • Responsible for process audits and both external and internal quality audits as well as any required corrective action plans. Amending customer documentation as required

  • Responsible to lead team in problem solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for non-conformities

  • Maintain the statistical process and control

  • Chairing of Quality Meetings and Working Groups

  • Acting as the AirPro main point of contact for quality management

  • Identify, development and manage new methods of quality management for continuous improvements

  • Other duties as assigned



  • At least seven (7) years managing ISO 9001 –AS 9100 Quality systems

  • Knowledge of Airworthiness requirements including Continuing Airworthiness

  • At least three years’ experience in Quality Management in an aerospace environment

  • Demonstrated experience in managing quality systems

  • Proven experience leading audits internally and externally

  • Ability to effectively communicate quality system requirements and measurements with non-quality personnel

  • Able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

  • Process driven and able to meet tight deadlines

  • Strong problem solving skills; ability to think outside the box

  • Ability to instruct Aircraft Maintenance personnel on quality topics

  • Ability to use various measurement devices

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Previous experience working with DND will be considered an asset

  • Ability to meet program security requirement

  • Must be able to travel within Canada and internationally as required
