PAL is currently seeking a Project Coordinator experienced in the coordination of commercial MRO activities to support the Fixed Wing Search and Rescue Program (FWSAR) at our Halifax, NS base.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planning, scheduling and management of PAL FWSAR tasks
  • Support the creation of routine and adhoc FWSAR reports
  • Provide support to PAL FWSAR:
    • Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) and support team creation
    • Main Operating Base (MOB), MRO, and Central Warehouse (CW) set-up
    • Procurement activities (consumables, PPE, GSE)
  • Assist with FWSAR project reporting to PAL senior management and Customer
  • Support the project through effective communications and collaboration with project stakeholders
  • Assist with project controls using MS Project and MS Excel
  • Monitor and assess progress against PAL FWSAR baseline plan and contribute to the development of recovery plans where necessary
  • Maintain PAL FWSAR Risk Register
  • Coordinate, attend, and support project review meetings
  • Manage and maintain PAL FWSAR project management archived data and reports
  • Assist the PAL FWSAR Program Manager with internal and external communications
  • Provide project administrative support as required
  • Other duties as assigned



  • Experience working on a large scale project
  • Familiarity with MRO facility requirements: Ground Support Equipment, Aircraft Maintenance Support Equipment, Support, Test, and Personal Protection Equipment and Consumables
  • Practical experience of technical and commercial MRO activities considered an asset
  • Familiarity with AME licensing requirements; AME License is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with the coordination of MRO logistical operations
  • Experience working with OEM aircraft maintenance documentation
  • Familiarity with Mobile Repair Party concept of operations
  • Experience of working with DND considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, multi-tasking skills, and communication skills
  • Ability to develop project plans and allocate resources
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment and meet strict deadlines
  • Familiar with MS Office suite including MS Project and MS Excel
