PAL Aerospace is currently looking for a Maintenance Quality Assurance Manager at our St. John’s, NL base.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing all quality assurance aspects of the Maintenance department;  
  • Ensure quality standards and procedures are developed and implemented according to company’s policies and Transport Canada requirements relating to maintenance of aircraft and equipment;
  • Responsible for process audits and internal quality audits;
  • Maintain the statistical process control within the Maintenance department ;
  • Ensure the verification of proper completion of aircraft certification and inspection documentation;
  • Promote work safety standards and policy;
  • Responsible to ensure continued integration of the Quality system with the  company SMS program;
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor performance metrics that support the project’s goals/objectives;
  • Analyze contractual quality assurance requirements and their relationships to company practices and procedures; use Corrective Actions to drive change;
  • Create annual quality review reports through the use of data collected both internally and from customers for management review;
  • Monitor inspection procedures and policy on a random basis to ensure quality control procedures are being effectively carried out;
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quality Management role within the Aerospace industry;
  • Three years’ experience in supervisory-related roles;
  • Experience  in the aviation industry;
  • Experience with Quality Assurance, auditing, inspection techniques, document control, corrective and preventative actions, continuous improvement, risk management, supplier reviews preferred
  • Skilled in the audit process both internally and externally;
  • Excellent computer skills;
  • Detail oriented, and have the ability to work in a fast- paced environment with constantly shifting priorities;
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills;
  • Ability to instruct production personnel on quality;
  • Must have excellent leadership skills;
  • Effective communication skills – ability to read, write and converse in the English language;
  • Aerospace Management, Maintenance or related field; preferred
