PAL Aerospace is a proud partner of Airbus Defence & Space for the Government of Canada’s Fixed Wing Search and Rescue (FWSAR) aircraft replacement program. Through AirPro Search And Rescue Services (a joint venture between Airbus DS and PAL), the AirPro team will be responsible for fleet management tasks including Integrated Logistics Support, Logistics Support Analysis, and Obsolescence Management. In addition, PAL Aerospace will be responsible for large elements of the In-Service Support covering many aspects of the maintenance work not undertaken by Royal Canadian Air Force technicians. It will include high value work such as repairs, 2nd and 3rd level maintenance, future modification work and depot level maintenance of the aircraft.

In an effort to expand our current team, PAL Aerospace is currently looking for a Logistics Support Analysis and Obsolescence Manager to join the AirPro team in Ottawa, ON.
The Logistics Support Analysis and Obsolescence Manager will be accountable to the ILS Manager for all in-service LSA and obsolescence issues related to CC295. The ideal candidate will be multi-skilled and practised in LSA, LCMM and all aspects of long-term support of an aircraft and its associated systems. In addition, experience working with DND will be considered an asset.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Work with OEM and Customer to shape and define company LSA responsibilities on the FWSAR Contract
Learn and gain competency on OEM LSA database
Provide subject matter input to key deliverables
Lead the development of AirPro LSA related processes and procedures
Develop training and skills development for remainder of LSA team at AirPro
Update LSA database in support of Design Change activity
Coordinate flow of LSA Data through Electronic Tech Pubs and Customer Recording System (including materiel usage, obsolescence, configuration, etc.)
Identify and report LSA deficiencies in Technical Publications Management System and coordinate related investigations as necessary
Assist Senior Design Engineer and ILS team in conducting analysis of Canadian fleet usage data
Participate in Engineering Review Meetings
Managing all known obsolescence projects
Preparing and presenting progress reports to the Airworthiness Review Board
Liaising directly with the OEM on obsolescence issues
Other duties as assigned
Minimum 5 years working with LSA standards (Mil-Std-1388, DEF-STAN 00-60 and/or S3000L)
A strong level of operational IT knowledge is essential including experience maintaining an ILS/LSA database
Ability to review the design, development, manufacture, installation and testing of engineering changes and modifications to understand how support structures are impacted
Experience in preparation of life-cycle cost estimates
Good working knowledge of Obsolescence Management
Excellent communication skills to liaise and build relationships with stakeholders in Government and Industry
Logical approach to complex problem solving
Provide support to the maintenance of data load requirements and procedures for loading data from OEM to Customer/User database
The ability to be flexible in travelling internationally for training and meetings would be essential at the onset of this role
Experience performing LORA (Level of Repair Analysis) and Spares modelling is desirable as is ability to prepare and/or support cost option analysis for systems and equipment
Experience working with DND will be considered an asset
