Brian Chafe  |  Chief Executive Officer

Brian Chafe is responsible for the coordination of business unit operations and development of strategic plans for the PAL Group of Companies. His formal education includes a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Master of Business Administration from the Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. After gaining experience in government and the transportation industry, Brian joined PAL Aerospace as Controller in 1998, and was promoted to Vice President of Finance and Administration. In 2004, Brian was appointed as Chief Operating Officer and in 2013 assumed the responsibilities of the company’s Chief Executive Officer.



General (Ret.) Rick Hillier, is the former Chief of the Defence Staff for Canadian Forces – the senior most position in Canada’s Armed Forces.  General Hillier provides unparalleled insight and advice on domestic and international aerospace and defence programs. Born in Newfoundland and Labrador, General Rick Hillier joined the Canadian Forces as soon as he could. Having enrolled in the Canadian Forces in 1973 through the Regular Officer Training Plan program, he graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. After completing his armour officer classification training, he joined his first regiment, the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise’s) in Petawawa, Ontario. Subsequently, he served with, and later commanded, the Royal Canadian Dragoons in Canada and Germany. Throughout his career, General Hillier has had the privilege and pleasure of commanding troops from the platoon to multi-national formation level within Canada, Europe, Asia and the United States. He has worked as a staff officer in several headquarters, first at the Army level in Montreal and later at the strategic level in Ottawa. Since joining PAL Aerospace as a special advisor, he has directly participated in numerous domestic and international events.



Andrew Perry joined PAL Aerospace in 2011, and is primarily responsible for the overall financial management of PAL.  He is responsible for strategic financial planning, budgeting, identifying and managing risks, establishing financial objectives, forecasting, and the management of financial and internal control policies. Andrew has progressed quickly within our corporate finance team starting as Assistant Controller, then as Corporate Controller and most recently as Vice President, Finance, before assuming the role as CFO.



Lisa Sparkes joined PAL Aerospace over twenty years ago and has held increasingly senior positions over this time.  Her responsibilities include the management of all Human Resource functions including recruitment, compensation and benefits management.  As VP of Human Resources Lisa will work to ensure that our company offers all employees the most stimulating work environment in which to work and grow.   



Keith Stoodley is primarily responsible for business unit operations, strategic planning, business development, and government relations for PAL LLC. His scope of work includes both domestic and international operations. Keith’s formal education includes a Bachelor of Science Degree (Honours) from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of British Columbia. Keith joined PAL Canada in 2005, and has since gained significant experience in domestic and international programs in the aerospace and defence sector. Keith has extensive international marketing experience, and brings to PAL LLC over 10 years of experience in aerospace business development.



Jake Trainor has been working for PAL Aerospace for over 7 years. Primary responsibilities include direct oversight of aerospace operations, including engineering, R&D, production, integration, maintenance, and flight operations.  His formal education includes a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) from the Royal Military College of Canada, and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario. Prior to being promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2014, Jake occupied the role of Vice President – Aerospace Services and previously was also the program manager for the UAE Armed Forces Maritime Patrol Aircraft program. Jake is also a former Air Force pilot and has extensive experience in military and special mission operations.
